Grandchildren Pictures 2009

Yesterday Nanny took all of the grandchildren to Sears to get our yearly pictures done. We have been doing this every year ever since I can remember. This time the guys wore green T-shirts and the girls wore pink T-shirts. The pictures turned out really nice. We had a great photographer who made the whole experience fun for everyone!

New Song

I have added a new song on "The Schnarr Family Music" link- Amazing Grace.

Scott's 16th Birthday

On Saturday we went over to Babum and Nanny's house to celebrate my cousin Scott's sixteenth birthday. It was a very nice time. I think Scott really had fun!
Scott is such a kind, tender-hearted guy. He was very grateful for all the gifts he received and made sure to thank everyone. I really enjoy spending time with him. He has such a unique personality and is always carefully of others feelings.

Happy Birthday Trent!

Saturday we Trent's 11th birthday. We celebrated it with him on Friday. Babum and Nanny came over for dinner and we enjoyed one of Trent's favorite foods-peperoni loaf. For the recipe visit my brother Trey's blog : http://treysstuff8.blogspot.com/search?q=loaf
Trent had been wanting a DS for quite a while and for his birthday he finally got one. He was very excited!
Happy Birthday Trent! Have great year!!!

Bug Bombs

Recently we have had a moths on the ceiling of our house. We tried to get rid of them by killing them one by one but that didn't seem to work. Today we decided to set off a few bug bombs to get rid of them all, for good. When you use the bug bomb you have to leave the house for so many hours before going back in. We packed up everyone including the dogs and birds and spent the day at Babum and Nanny's.
Even though it was some what of a surprise visit it turned out to be a very nice time. Amber, Trent and Trey were able to take a walk around the lake with the dogs. Cole surprised us by actually going into the lake! That was a mess! And we were able to have a good time visiting with Nanny for the afternoon.

Day at the Park

Friday night Babum and Nanny came over for dinner. We had a wonderful meal that many of us contributed to. As always we enjoyed the talking and having fun with family.
Saturday we went to the James River National Park. We had never been before but it was beautiful! We were surround by mountains and gorgeous scenery.
We packed a pic nick dinner and enjoyed roasting s'mores over the grill. Amber and Trey got a chance to use their kite and Daddy, Tyler and Trent played ball together. After dinner we all took a walk around a small lake.
It really was a fun, relaxing day. The park is about an hour away from us but it was definitely worth the trip!

Spending the Night

On Tuesday Nanny pick me up after lunch to spend the night at their house and to go shopping with her. We again, found some really good deals. Nanny was able to find a purse and I found some photo editing software I had been wanting.
After we were done shopping we went over to her house and made some dinner. Babum came home to eat with us and we all had a great time together. Later that night Babum let me drive the car with him so I could get in more of the night time driving I need to get my license.
Wednesday morning Nanny and I went out for lunch and did a little more shopping before I went home.
I really enjoy spending the night with my grandparents. They have been faithful to having us over like that for as long as I can remember. I have lots of fun memories with them from Nanny eating lunch on the lake in their paddle boat ,with me, to Babum telling stories before bed. I am so blessed to have them as my grandparents!

Father's Day Party

We had a lot going on the last few weeks and we didn't have a chance to do very much for Father's Day. So, yesterday we surprised Daddy by throwing him a Father's Day party! He came home from work and the first thing he saw was four balloons tied to the mail box. When he walked to the front door there was a sign that said "We have the best Daddy". He was very surprised!
For dinner we made him a special meal and got out the good china. We even had sparkling grape juice in special glasses. We also decorated the kitchen for him and put up signs.
As a gift we got Daddy some DVDs and we all watched them together and eat his favorite snacks! I think He had a really good time and so do we!

Voice Command

"Training" my computer

A few days ago I was experimenting with my laptop. I found this really cool setting "voice command". I'd never heard of it before. Well, it turns out that with "voice command" I can talk to my computer instead using the mouse! Right now I am in the proses of "training" my laptop to recognize my voice. When I am finished I should be able to dictate an e-mail and have it typed out for me without using my hands! This will be great for typing long documents.

Some of the kids looked at me strangely when they came up stairs and saw me talking to me computer. "What are you doing?" "Training my computer." It was funny to see the looks on their faces before I explained it all to them. :)

New Laptop!

I'm very excited to say that I'm blogging this from my brand new, very own laptop! For a while I have been wanting to get my own because I use the family computer so much and it would be so much more convenient. Last night we went to Best Buy and Daddy helped me pick one out. I'm very excited and I know I'm going to be using it a lot!

Here are just a few pictures of the museum. You could easily spend hours there.

Creation museum

When we went on Vacation this May I mentioned that we visited the Creation Museum but I was unable to give very many details. Today I'd like to share with you about the Museum.
The Creation Museum is owned by Answers in Geneses an organization dedicated to defending the Bible from the very beginning. Ken Ham, owner of A.I.G., points out that if you do not accept all of God's word as truth, starting in Geneses, then you have no basis for believing the rest of the Bible. If you don't think God really meant what He said in one aria how do you know what He said in other places in the Bible is true? You need to accept all of God's word not pick and choose the parts you like.
Evolution is in my opinion Satan's greatest tactic of our time to undermine the word of God. Evolution tries to claim something, billions of years for instance, as fact when in reality it is only speculation. No one has every had any hard evidence for evolution however through media, text books etc... evolution is presented as a definite fact. Answers in Geneses shows how in actuality science proves that the Bible is true. That God created the earth in 6 literal days, not billions of years. If you dig deeper you will see how the account in Geneses fits with better with science then evolution dose.
The Creation Museum gives many defences for the Bible that you will not hear in many other places. The museum was made very well, it is very high tech, lots of life sized dinosaur replicas, beautiful grounds out side, a planetarium but most importantly everything is compatible with the Bible.
I would recommend the Museum to any one. As one of the signs say "I went and I believed". If you have any doubts I would urge you to go. It will change your life.

If you have any questions concerning creation vs. evolution I'd love to try to answer them for you or you can go to http://www.answersingenesis.org/ . This website can give you answers for almost anything to do with the topic. It has lots of articles and even video clips with tons of information.

Just an Ordinary Day

It was nice to be able to relax today and not have to worry about which house would be best to choose. We are all so happy everything worked out and can't wait till Grandpa and Grandma move out here!
Mommy, Trey and I all got our hair cut yesterday or today. Trey's hair is much shorter than his old style. He really enjoyed tinting his hair orange with some non permanent die. "Daddy do you notice anything different?" I got my hair cut a little shorter and layered. I really like it.
Tonight we all had a good time play around with our instruments. I'm so thankful that we all have a good relationship with each other and can enjoy spending time together in the evenings.

Offer Accepted!

Praise the Lord!!!!!!! An offer was put on a house yesterday and it was accepted! Thank you to everyone who prayed for us during the process. Of course it will take some time to get everything settled but the hardest part is over.

We would love for you to pray that Grandpa and Grandma's condo in Ohio would sell very soon. Grandpa also has some health issues and we need wisdom about what to do. Thank you so much for your prayers!

Shopping Trip

This afternoon Nanny took me and Amber out shopping. We had a lot of fun! We have been so busy we haven't done that in a while. It was great to be able to spend some time with her.
We went to both of my favorite stores Ross and NY & Co. and found some great deals! I love a good sale! We also went to a few other stores in the mall. Nanny too us out for ice cream cones too. Yum!

My Favorite Bible Verse

When someone graduates from high school a lot of times they pick a life verse. I'd like to share with you what me favorite Bible verses are and why.

Psalms 37: 3-5
Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

There are lots of Bible verses that bring me comfort but I'd have to say for me this is the one that has spoken to me the most. It reminds me that if I trust and obey the Lord he will bless me. As for giving me the desires of my heart, that doesn't mean all my wishes will be granted but rather if I trust God, enjoy Him for who he is not who I make Him to be and purpose to follow Him, God will change my desires to be like His. Sometimes giving up my desires and changing to God's, can be very difficult but I know from experience that His ways are always far better then I could have imagined.
