Fighting for Computer time

As you can see, in a family of seven you sometimes have to fight to get a few minuets on the computer. :-D

Trent played basketball again this morning. We were all very proud of him, Trent shot a three-pointer! You should have seen the smile on his face had heard Trey call "that's my brother"!

Tyler Hunting

Tyler has gone hunting, again, today. We dropped him off at the Glick's farm (people from church). They have a lot of property, perfect for Tyler and his friend Tuck to hunt. When we dropped Tyler off we were able to hold some cute little puppy's. The younger kids enjoyed the wrinkly puppies the most and played with them for a while.

We had another beautiful day today and the sun looked is gorgeous over the trees i had to take at another picture.

Virginia Weather

View for Our Front Yard

My last post was about our first Va snow of the year but today all the snow and ice has melted away. We are enjoying the 50 some degree weather without coats and with opened windows.

Tyler went hunting again today and Amber, Trent and Trey were out, so Mommy and I relaxed for most of the afternoon. Before that, all of us (except Trent) had our piano lessons for the week. I am in the process of getting ready for my senior recital and soon the others will be starting music for the spring homeschool recital.

First Snow

Yesterday we had our first snow of the year, which amounted to about 1/2 inch. That's Virginia for you! Well, it was pretty while it lasted. Today we have had some freezing rain that was beautiful on the tree branches.
This evening Daddy took us to Koto, a Japanese steakhouse, near where we live. We always enjoy seeing all the fire and tricks they do while cooking our meal. Tyler and Trent had fun catching rice balls in their mouths and Trey got a kick out of the Japanese man joking around with Trent and calling him "Deary". I think we would all agree that Koto's is our favorite place to eat and that we would highly recommend it to others.

Dinner at the Lawrie's

We have some very close friends the, Lawrie's, who invited us to dinner a few nights ago, along with our grandparents. We had a great meal and really enjoyed the company! We get together with them often. We've even gone camping with them on a couple of occasions. One of our favorite things to do with the Lawrie's is play a card game called spoons which always bring on lots of fun and laughs.

Craft Projects

Trey's cookie
Amber with candy

Amber and Trey have been doing a lot of craft projects the last few days. Mom bought them a leather wristband making kit which they throughly enjoyed. They have also been experimenting with creating melted candy on a stick. This was by far one of Amber's favorite projects this week! She LOVES sweets!!!

Lunch with the wickert's

We had lunch this afternoon with some good friends of ours, the Wickert's. The two boy's Fred and Dan have a great time playing in the yard with Tyler and Trent. We had a nice warm day today so it was the perfect time for them to come over. All four of the boys enjoy hunting and shooting targets, so they are very good friends.
We had an enjoyable time with Mrs. Wickert (Pam), who got all the kids excited by bringing doughnuts over!

Friends

This morning we had friends from out of town come to visit us, Deanna Ronk and her two girls Anna and Alisyn. Deanna is a good friend of my Mom's and was a bridesmaid in her wedding. Amber and Trey in particular had a good time playing with the girls. Anna was very interested in Sydney and Sydney loved the attention!
Today I helped my grandparents start a blog and for those interested you can go to: www.seekyefirst-brodie.blogspot.com .

Charlottesville

Trey had a dentist appointment in Charlottesville today so I rode along with him and Mommy, to go shopping. The three of us had a nice time together. Trey's appointment went well, he got his back teeth sealed but they determined that later on he will need braces. Trey thoroughly enjoyed the trip and talked the whole way home!

Trent is involved in a basketball team at our church. He played his second game for the year this morning. He did an excellent job! Trent really enjoys playing and it is a good learning experience for him. His best position is defence. He'll get right up in their face and not let them shoot the ball! Trent also shows good sportsmanship and is a good example for the whole team.

Happy Birthday!

Sunday night after church our grandparent came over to celebrate Daddy's birthday. Everyone seemed to have a very good time. He opened his presents then we all eat cake and ice cream. Then we sat around and talked for awhile. That is always a special time for our family.

Fine Dinning

We had a very busy day today. I had to work, Tyler went out to lunch with the youth pastor, Amber, Trent and Trey had music lessons and Mommy had a lady's Bible study to go to. The thing I enjoyed most about today was going out to dinner with Daddy.
This summer I won a gift card to Crown Sterling, a formal restaurant, near our house. We had never had a chance to use it until tonight. We had a great time! I had fun getting dressed up, the food was wonderful, and the atmosphere was nice too but what I enjoyed most of all was having some time alone with Daddy. We were able to just talk and laugh. We really had a fun evening and I am blesses to have such wonderful parents.

Family

Michelle, David,
Nicholas

On Sunday Uncle David, Aunt Michelle and Nicholas (7 yrs.) came and spent the night with us on the way to a military base in Fayettvill. We had a very nice time talking with them. Amber, Trent and Trey enjoyed being with Nicholas. This morning they all played with his dart guns he got for Christmas and seemed to be having a lot of fun. After lunch they had to head out so they could look at some housing near the military base.
For those of you interested in listening to our music I have added a link "Schnarr Family Music" which will enable you to listen without scrolling through all the earlier posts to find it.

Christmas is Over the New Year has Begun

Yesterday we came home from our grandparents house and undecorated the tree. It is always a sad time, taking down the tree, and knowing that the Christmas season is officially over but we are looking forward to what God is going to do in 2009.

Happy New Year

Amber, Cole & Me

FOOD!!!

Babum telling stories
Last night we spent the night at my grandparents house like we do every New Years Eve. Babum (grandpa) told us stories wile we sat around the fireplace. Then we dug into the food. And did we have food!!! There were nine people and enough food for ninety! Then we went down-stairs to watch a few comedy shows. At twelve we watched the ball drop in time square then wished everyone a happy new year!
This morning everyone piled into our twelve passenger van and headed to Cracker Barrel, another family tradition, for a late breakfast.
We were excited to be invited to stay another night at our grandparents house and do the food all over again tonight :-D!
