Ok, so I’m back. I guess it’s been quite a while since I last posted! I guess I’ll break it down by months and cover the big things.
One of my highlights for June was going to visit my cousin Aundrea in Illinois for two weeks. She was graduating from high school so I went to celebrate with her. I had a lot of fun doing new exciting things like taking my first flight alone. I even shot my first gun! We did lots of shopping, preparing for her graduation party and just getting a chance to get caught up with each other. I had so much fun! I really enjoyed getting to know my Aunt, Uncle and other cousins better too!
A few days after I got back all of us kids were able to spend the week at Nanny and Babum’s house while Daddy and Mommy went to California. We also got to spend some time with my cousins Scottie and Lacey during that week.
In July we had a lot of things going on. I had a few wedding cakes to make over the last couple of months and they all took a lot of time and planning. We also got to spend time with the Robertson’s (my uncle, aunt and cousins from Illinois). They came to visit with Grandpa and Grandma Schnarr for a few days. We had a great time showing them around Lynchburg!
We were pretty busy in August too. I celebrated my 18th birthday on the 11th. We had a small party with family and a few close friends. I am so blessed with so many people who love me! They all gave me very sweet, meaningful gifts. My favorite gift though would have to be from my parents. It was a hope chest! I had been wanting to get one for a while now but this one will be so much more special to me because Daddy is building it himself! It’s looking beautiful so far! I love it! I’ll try to remember to post pictures when it’s completed.
I can’t believe it’s already September! Already we have celebrated Trey’s 10th birthday. And Amber’s is coming up soon! Trey is really enjoying the bag of candy and treats, the bike, yoyo, video camera and books he got for his birthday. All favorites of his!
Today the kids started school again too. I think so far it is going well and they are liking the book they have for this year.
Well, again I’m going to attempt to keep up with the blog more often but sometimes life is so crazy I just can’t seem to catch my breath!
Whatever is True
Philippians 4:8 “Finally brethren whatever is true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of good report; if there be any virtue or praise think on these things.”

May 2010
Wow! It’s been a long time since I have been able to find the time to post something. I’ll try to do a quick recap to cover the major events we’ve had lately.
A few weeks ago we were able to go to the beach for vacation. We had great weather, the water was warm and the temperature was great all week! We enjoyed long walks on the beach at night looking for crabs, sunny days playing in the water, fishing on the pier and we even got to see a shark! One day we got to ride a ferry and visited an aquarium, we spent another day shopping and lots of time just enjoying family.
Last month we had a chance to have dinner with some friends at their lake house. They have a very nice boat that we all had a chance to ride it. Mr. Summer’s enjoys hunting and he let us try the bear that he recently shot. It was actually very good! It looked and tasted like roast beef.
Recently one of my friends, Michael Winks, who was in the college and career class at church died in a motorcycle accident. He was only twenty-two. I was able to got to his memorial service on Monday. Though it was a sad time it was also a celebration that he is now in heaven with the Lord. I was reminded that we need to make every day count for the Lord. We are not promised tomorrow. I’m sure the Winks family would appreciate your prayers.
I have also made my first two wedding cakes over the last two week. Both went very smoothly and I think the brides enjoyed. If you would like to see pictures I have them on my website http://www.ashleyscreativecakes.com/
Uncle David, Aunt Michelle and Nicholas came for a visit over memorial weekend. We were able to have a nice dinner with them before they went home and the kids were able to spend time playing with Nicholas.

We have had a lot of things going on the past few weeks here are just a few of the things we have been up to.
As I mentioned before at Easter time we celebrated Babum and Nanny's birthdays. Grandpa Schnarr held a Sader demonstration for our Sunday school class around Easter time too. A Sader demonstration is basically showing some of the Jewish customs at passover. If was very interesting.
Two Saturdays ago our cousins Joel, Chrissy and baby Catlin came to visit for the day. We all had a very nice time with them.
Daddy was out of town last week on business so we spent the week at Babum and Nanny's house. This was a lot fun. It was great to have a change in schedule and spend some time with them.

Easter 2010
We had a wonderful Easter this year. The day before Easter we spent some time with the Brodie side of the family. Not only did we celebrate Easter we also had a combined birthday party for Nanny and Babum.
On Easter we celebrated with the Schnarr side of the family. That was a nice time too. I don't think we have ever been able to spend Easter with Grandpa and Grandma before.
Everyone at our house is doing well. We have been very busy lately and without my laptop it has been difficult for me to find time to post very much.
Daddy has been out of town a lot on business but he is coming home tonight. We are excited about that. Tyler got his wisdom teeth taken out last week. He seems to be recovering well. I have a few cakes I'm going to be doing in the near future that will keep me pretty busy.
All of us are looking forward to summer when hopefully things will start to slow down.

Spring
Today I finally have a couple of seconds to blog. I’ve been so busy I just haven’t had time.
Spring seems to be here to stay. I’m loving the nice weather! The kids have been enjoying it too.
One day last week we went to the LU monogram to have a picnic lunch. If you haven’t gone I would certainly suggest it. The view of Lynchburg is beautiful. We hiked to the monogram but there is a road to you can drive up there if you would prefer not to walk.
I’ve been busy getting lots of good deals lately. Right now I really don’t have time to blog about them on A Real Steal but I would suggest www.moneysavingmom.com if you are on the look out for good deals.
I just found out tonight that I am going to have to send my laptop back in for repairs. So, I probably will not have a lot of time to blog in the near future but I will try to update you as time allows.

Warmer Weather
Today we had some gorgeous weather! It was so warm we opened the windows to cool the house down. The kids enjoyed being able to ride their bikes out side.
I have a cake I'm making this weekend. The kids are getting ready for a song they will be playing in Church in couple of weeks and Daddy is going to be getting an epidural shot for his shoulder on Friday. We would appreciate your prayers Friday afternoon.

What We've Been Doing
Wow it's been a while since I've posted! My life has gotten even busier than normal and there never seems to be enough hours in a day. I'll try to get caught up on a few things.
Last Friday we had some friends over for dinner, the Smith family. Before dinner most everyone went ice skating at Liberty University's ice rink. It sounded like they had a really good time. It was great to spend some time with this special family.
Over the last few weeks it has been snowing on and off but we haven't had any snow that amounted to much lately.
On Thursday nights I am attending a girls Bible study with people from the college and career class from our Church. We always have a good time and we are going through a really great study of Ephesians chapters 1 and 2.
I've also been working on my new website design which has taken a lot of my time. If you'd like to take a look you can go to http://www.ashleyscreativecakes.com/
The kids have been keeping up with school and their music lessons. Today I helped them make gingersnap cookies for their cooking class.
With the cold weather it's been encouraging for me to hear everyone start talking about our beach trip comming up this spring. Yeah! There's an end in sight for winter!
